Day 1

I was asked to be at the hospital at 8:15am, but I didn't go into surgery till around 11am. At 12pm, the anesthesia wore off and I laid there, groggy with a super sore throat. I took a percocet, and felt great. I was even able to have a conversation with my parents. I left the hospital by 1:30pm. The ride home was a NIGHTMARE. The hospital was already an hour away from home, but to my shitty luck, this was extended to 2 hours because of a truck blowing up on the BQE. My prayers are with that truck driver, but of all times, this was the worst for me. The percocet wore off and I was practically fainting in the back seat. My eyes were closing, my head felt like a feather, and my body was breaking out into a sweat. I didn't eat a thing since 10pm the night before. I was drinking gatorade in the car, but it was burning like hell. I switched seats with my mom and sat in the front with the window down and AC blasting.
We finally got home around 3:30pm. I tried to eat and drink everything, but nothing was possible. Water, gatorade, jell-o, chicken broth, sorbet, popsicles, you name it. The best food happened to be mashed potatoes, which i couldn't finish, but felt it was easiest to get down. I was unable to speak all night long. I had to actually type or hand write messages to my family members. It was frustrating!
I went to sleep on my couch, sitting up straight with a humidifier on. Suprisingly, I slept great expect for a few times waking up in need of water.
I forgot to mention how dumb my thoughtful mother is. She gave me a bouquet of flowers and pink breast cancer ribbons. Did she really not catch that??
