Why?

Why did I decide to get this painful, torturing surgery??
Once or twice a year I get extreme sore throats along with cold symptoms. I also get swollen glands every month. About 8 months ago, my swallowing became very uncomfortable. It felt like there was small golf ball on the right side of my throat. It had to be a swollen lymph node bc my neck was tender. I immediately blamed my right wisdom tooth that was half in, half out. I had the tooth pulled, but sure enough, the golf ball was still there! I started visiting more doctors. One ENT told me that I needed my tonsils n adenoids removed. The next ENT was questioning who that doctor was bc he was clearly wrong. Oh and did I mention that I occasionally get those gross tonsil stones? Blehhh. Anyway, I decided to ignore it. It eventually started easing up until 2 months later, Mr. golf ball came back. It bothered me all summer long! I went to an internal medicine doc who suggested my tonsils be removed, but tested me for all viral infections. The results didn't show anything serious so I went for one last opinion with a well known ENT. He really looked at my tonsils and suggested that they be removed. Prior to the surgery, I read so many blogs, hence why I felt a need to write my own. Everyone has a different experience. On Oct 6, 2008, those bad boys were removed. My doc said they were filled with puss, which is probably a valid reason for my uncomfortable swallow aka Mr. golf ball.
